This study aimed to study the porthole openings on the top floor. The diagram above highlights the different vantage points in relation to use through teh drawings of furniture. The below study aimed to study the portholes from the external rather than the internal as normally you would only get a concept of what you see outside from the inside.
I then wanted to project the vantage points that are seen internally. A box model was made and a light was inserted in the middle. The light coming out through the holes were then photographed. The model rotated every 30 degrees to get a series of images. The light was then projected onto a piece of semi translucent paper and photgraphed again every 30 degrees and also at 2 further distances away from the box. The light images were then printed onto translucent paper and then joined to form the above model.
The above collage was produced from the series of images take every 30 degrees put into a series, and each column represents the different distances that were taken of the light.
